The Langtang Gosaikund Helambu Trek offers a pristine and less-developed Nepal experience, away from the hustle of the capital region. This journey takes you through lush forests, encounters with unique alpine communities, and explores the Langtang Valley, Kyanjin Gompa, and sacred Gosaikunda. Amidst the breathtaking snow-capped Langtang Himalayas, the trek showcases powerful waterfalls, natural hot springs, vibrant azalea flowers, and diverse wildlife. Mysterious temples in Gosaikunda and Langtang Valley add to the allure of this adventure.

 

Starting with a tour of Kathmandu's historic sites, the trek leads to Syabrubesi by a scenic 6-7 hour drive. The trail gradually ascends through Langtang Khola, lined with bamboo and azalea groves, where lucky trekkers may spot elusive red pandas and other wildlife. In the Langtang Valley, the Sherpa village of Kyanjin Gompa (3,798m) awaits, offering a glimpse into the spiritual life of devoted Buddhist monks. A visit to the high Tserko Ri (5,050m) rewards with panoramic views of Gangchenpo and Dorje Lakpa peaks, with the majestic Langtang Lirung (7,246m) dominating the skyline.

Package Highlights

The trek allows exploration of the Langtang Lirung glacier area and a visit to a traditional handcrafted cheese factory. Thulo Syabru (2,250m) provides stunning vistas of Ganesh Himal and Langtang-II peaks. The pilgrimage site of 108 lakes, including Gosainkunda, is another highlight, said to be created by Lord Shiva's trident. Laurebinayak Pass (4,609m) offers a magnificent view of the Tibetan side. Descending to Gopte, you leave the Langtang Valley, returning to Helambu via Kutumsang and Chisapani, where beautiful mountain landscapes enchant. The trek concludes at Sundarijal before returning to Kathmandu.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, our representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. You'll have some free time to rest and recover from your journey or explore the vibrant streets of Thamel, a popular tourist area. In the evening, there will be a group briefing to prepare you for your upcoming trek, followed by a welcome dinner where you can savor traditional Nepali cuisine.

 

Day 2: Drive to Syabrubesi (1,503m)

Today, you'll embark on an adventurous journey with a scenic drive to Syabrubesi. The 6-hour drive takes you through picturesque landscapes, winding roads, and charming villages. Along the way, you'll catch glimpses of terraced fields, lush forests, and the distant Himalayan peaks.

 

Day 3: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,450m)

Your trek officially begins as you leave Syabrubesi and head towards Lama Hotel. The trail takes you through dense rhododendron and bamboo forests, following the Langtang River's melodious flow. Over the course of about 6 hours, you'll gradually ascend, immersing yourself in the natural beauty of Langtang National Park.

 

Day 4: Trek to Langtang Village (3,430m)

Today's trek leads you to the enchanting Langtang Village. As you ascend, the scenery becomes increasingly spectacular. You'll encounter traditional Tamang villages, mani walls, and prayer flags, all while enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks. The 6-hour trek is a captivating journey through both nature and culture.

 

Day 5: Trek to Kyanjing Gompa (3,830m)

Your destination today is Kyanjing Gompa, a picturesque village surrounded by towering mountains. This 4-hour trek offers a shorter day of walking, allowing you to soak in the incredible mountain scenery. Upon arrival, you can explore the local monastery and enjoy the peaceful ambiance.

 

Day 6: Hike to Kyanjing Ri and Tshego-Ri

Today is dedicated to exploration and adventure. You'll embark on a hike to Kyanjing Ri and Tshego-Ri, vantage points that offer breathtaking panoramic views of the Langtang range. Surrounded by snowy peaks, you'll feel like you're on top of the world. After capturing these unforgettable moments, you'll return to Kyanjing Gompa to relax.

 

Day 7: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,450m) via Langtang Valley

You'll retrace your steps along the Langtang Valley, making your way back to Lama Hotel. This 7-hour trek provides a different perspective of the landscape you passed through earlier in your journey. Enjoy the tranquil forests, soothing river sounds, and ever-changing scenery.

 

Day 8: Trek to Thulo Syabru (2,250m)

Leaving Lama Hotel behind, you'll embark on a 6-hour trek to Thulo Syabru. The trail offers striking views of Ganesh Himal and the Langtang Valley. As you ascend, you'll pass through lush forests, providing a delightful contrast to the previous day's descent.

 

Day 9: Thulo Syabru to Sing Gompa (3,330m)

Today's trek introduces you to the vibrant colors of rhododendron forests. You'll trek for approximately 6 hours, enjoying the serenity of the Langtang region. Sing Gompa, also known as Chandanbari, is a tranquil place where you can relax and immerse yourself in the natural beauty.

 

Day 10: Sing Gompa to Gosainkunda Lake (4,380m)

Your journey takes you to the sacred and serene Gosainkunda Lake, situated at an altitude of 4,380 meters. As you trek, the landscape changes dramatically, and you'll find yourself surrounded by pristine wilderness. The 6-hour trek allows you to experience the spiritual significance of this beautiful location.

 

Day 11: Trek from Gosainkunda to Ghopte (3,410m) via Phedi (3,630m)

You'll set out on a trek from Gosainkunda to Ghopte via Phedi, reaching an altitude of 3,630 meters. Along the way, you'll encounter unique terrain and, weather permitting, captivating mountain views. This day's journey lasts about 6 hours.

 

Day 12: Ghopte to Kutumsang (2,470m) via Tharepati (3,690m)

The trek from Ghopte to Kutumsang via Tharepati presents you with diverse landscapes and panoramic vistas. You'll reach an altitude of 3,690 meters at Tharepati before descending to Kutumsang, situated at 2,470 meters. The 7-hour trek offers a blend of challenges and rewards.

 

Day 13: Kutumsang to Chisapani (2,165m)

Today's trek takes you to Chisapani, a charming village located at an altitude of 2,165 meters. As you descend, you'll be treated to scenic views and a relaxed pace of about 6 hours. The journey allows you to appreciate the simplicity of village life in the Langtang region.

 

Day 14: Chisapani to Kathmandu via Sundarijal

After breakfast in Chisapani, you'll trek to Sundarijal, known for its incredible waterfall and lush surroundings. From Sundarijal, you'll drive back to Kathmandu. The day provides a pleasant contrast to the high-altitude trekking, offering a chance to rejuvenate and explore the vibrant capital city.

 

Day 15: Pashupatinath Visit and Departure

Your adventure concludes with a visit to the renowned Pashupatinath Temple, a major Hindu pilgrimage site. Afterward, you'll have lunch and proceed to Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure, bringing with you cherished memories of the Langtang Valley and its stunning landscapes, culture, and warm hospitality.
